I chose 2 Corinthians 3:5 this week which says: "Not that we are adequate in ourselves to consider anything as coming from ourselves, but our adequacy is from God..."
I read something amazing last night in a Nelson Bible and wanted to share it here:
One of the great tenets of Scripture is the claim that Jesus Christ is completely sufficient for all matters of life and godliness (2Pe1:3-4)! He is sufficient for creation (Col 1:16, 17), salvation (Heb 10:10-12), sanctification (Eph 5:26, 27), and glorification (Ro 8:30). So pure is He that there is no blemish, stain, spot of sin, defilement, lying, deception, corruption, error, or imperfection (1Pe 1:18-20).
Amen! And welcome to Word-Filled Wednesday! I hope you'll continue to join us. Happy early WFW and I'm praying you have a wonderfully Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteLove that verse. It struck something in me but I am not sure what. I think I will meditate on it this week.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas.
Welcome to WFW! Our "adequacy" is from God. What a thing to ponder. Not that it comes from God, but the fact that I have never considered it good enough to be adequate.
ReplyDeleteThank you for participating! Have a Merry Christmas.
ReplyDeleteWelcome to WFW, I enjoyed your verse and picture.
ReplyDeleteExcellent verse...thanks for bringing it to our attention.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas to you and your loved ones.
Wonderful words.
ReplyDeleteMay you have a blessed Christmas!
Amen, and welcome to WFW! I hope you'll continue to participate. I loved the photo and Scripture.
ReplyDeleteHi! I see this is from December. It's an awesome WFW post, and I"m glad I found it. Our adequacy does come from God, and it is not good for us to put ourselves down too much, because we are actually not trusting God.
